PORTFOLIO

Saturn V
My first attempt at a cartoon strip (it shows). The jokes were weak and PC, the artwork was unimpressive and unimaginative, but in my defence I was a kid so I'll cut myself some slack.

Mouse Drawn
These were drawn using Neopaint (see links page), a little shareware art package I've been using since the early 90's. It's pretty basic but offers all the functionality I ever needed.

Miscellaneous Cartoons
Better artwork than my early attempts but still lacking. Recently I've been reading some really great strips, like Stephen Notley's "Bob the Angry flower", which have shown me where I need to improve. Simple principles like choosing the right camera view for a panel and delivering dialogue more imaginatively. Plus actually being funny would be a good start.

Hand Drawn
These were part of my GCSE art coursework, all pretty standard. People used to complain (adults, parents and teachers mostly) about the darker stuff I drew, but if you spend your day in school drawing windmills and other dullness just to get a passing grade would you want to come home and continue that boredom. Do you think it's a coincidence that a work oriented, highly repressed society gave birth to Manga.

Smilies
A forum I moderate for was considered adding some more smiles to allow their users more expression in their posts. So I drew these and they're now in use at "The Overclocking Store".
